Carpe Diem, Hvar

For our final day on Hvar we decided to get a water taxi over Splitsko-Dalmatinska, a tiny island that's home to the Carpe Diem Beach Club. Having had a few too many vodka lemonades the night before at their bar on the main island, which seemed to be the most popular bar that was suitable for our age (i.e. not 18), we decided to check out the beach venue on the island, which during the day is a chilled swimming spot and then in the evening a popular clubbing destination. The day spot reminded me of Ocean Beach Club in Ibiza, with huge white sunbeds/mattresses, waiter service for food and drinks, and chilled background music. Although, situated on a rocky bay with crystal clear blue sea and beautiful yachts, this was on another level. One of my favourite spots on the entire holiday, it was the perfect combination of showy glamour and natural beauty.

Tip: Get to Splitsko-Dalmatinska by midday to ensure you get a good sunbed.
